Wow. I just realized that. 5 MVPs and still in his 20s. Jeez. That would be fcuking ridiculous.
Should be 6 though.

It's a race, which plays to Durant's advantage. To win the MVP LeBron would have to decisively overtake him.

It's about even right now. Both players are deserving. But LeBron has the momentum with the HEAT ripping off 8 in a row. It all comes down to who has the best record for me, especially if it ends up being the best record in the league.

I thought that was true last year, but I don't this year. Media members don't want really give it to Durant anymore. Not after his beta mentality he's displaying.

You are amazing
Re: Has the tide closed on the MVP race, is Durant losing the MVP to Lebron?
LeBron is just using the situation, a.k.a. taking the easier way.
As the season winds down, he's playing the prisoner of the moment card.
Durant has better stats, similar record if not identical in a much tougher conference, and has played the majority of the season without his second best player. Durant has also way more amazing games this season than LeBron, and has been consistently good on defense, something that LeBron can't say too. The only thing that got LeBron back in the race is using the given situation, as westbrook came back, LeBron stepped it up, Durant gets less shots, so his stats will be back to earth again, and people, usually being the prisoners of the moment, will vote for the one who has only been really good as of late.
It's good that MVP isn't a serious award, otherwise, this could be the robbery of the century if they are equal the rest of the way, and LBJ wins.

It's just as true this year, and it's definitely closer this year considering what Durant did without Westbrook.
As for "beta mentality" people in real life don't actually talk like that, it's just an ISH fad, so it has no effect on the voters.

It's funny. 3 years ago no one on here would be rooting for lebron. Seems like you were all wrong and coming to Miami was the best thing for him to do. He's certainly turned the lot of you around and has gained more supporters now that he's winning.
