did not see that coming. at all. knew dos anjos was going to be a tough challenge but normally pettis does well vs. aggressive fighters that constantly move forward. he's a really good counter striker.
dos anjos just brought it. that was an ass whooping. esparza got destroyed too. can't recall when two champs got beat so bad on the same card. that was actually a really good card. card of the year imo

i haven't watched the fights yet, but it sounds like RDA's very first punch put out pettis' right eye for the rest of the night. all credit to RDA of course, but it must be pretty impossible to deal with such a handicap against an elite foe.
yes RDA did have a partial MCL tear, but he also had three weeks to deal with it. but having your gameplan go up in smoke from the very first blow taken is brutal. so in other words... yes, i look forward to a rematch in the future. i see a lot of ppl writing off pettis, but i think it's premature.
at the same time, looks like that division is almost khabib's at this point.
i wonder if this overeem - JDS fight is finally gonna happen? that fight was a destruction waiting to happen not so long ago, but now...? i think it could be a little closer now that reem is fighting more carefully.
