If he was jacking up shots with bad efficiency and a low FG%, that's one thing. But that wasn't the case.
Except he's not the most efficient scorer...

Kevin Durant is more efficient than MJ ever was as a scorer.

phil jackson and the assistant coach tex winter did not want mj to win the scoring titles so maybe gunning for points held them back from being better than they were which is scary

when mj came back from his retirement he didnt want to score a million points anymore and still led the league in scoring so who knows

    best player ever

Huh? He still led the league in shots taken during the second three peat, and was attempting just as many if not more field goals per game from '96-'98 as he was from '91-'93.

This is what dominance is in the MODERN era. It's not like MJ did this in the 60's. This was the late 80's to mid 90's.

Ponder this. MJ has more scoring titles than LeBron, Kobe, Durant, Curry and Wade COMBINED.

Yeah. That's insane. The only season he didn't was his rookie year, and he lead the league in total points that year, averaging 28 ppg in the process.

I was sure Durant could reach 7 scoring titles atleast to tie Wilt. That looks impossible now.
I wonder if anyone will ever break this record. Leading the entire league in scoring THEN seasons. Let that sink in.

This record might never get broken. It's a truly ridiculous accomplishment if you think about it. It's one thing to be top 5 or top 3 for 10 years but to be #1 for 10 years?

And probably missed out on possibly the 86 scoring title( injured, but I'd have to think he's have been 30+ that year), and 94 and 95. Conceivably he could have had 12/13 titles if his sophomore campaign was healthy and didn't retire in his prime.

The only guy to even sniff this level of dominance as a scorer is Wilt. He won 7 out of his 14 eligible seasons. That's a 50% rate, which is amazing in itself. But MJ 10/11? That's straight up ridiculous.
