Unbelievable that people are trying to give Durant a pass just cause they got caught in the hype.

Were giving him a free pass because he's a rookie. If you're going to love Lebron James and simply hate Kevin Durant's game...then you better look at Lebron James rookie numbers.

20/5/5. 41%percentage.

You hate no reason to hate...those numbers are similar to Durants 22/5/2 39 percent shooting.

What the crap do you expect him to do?

He's on a team that's going nowhere this year, and they want him to develop into the offensive leader and focal point of the team as soon as possible.

kinda. he's taking bad shots in the games i've seen and passing as a last resort (though he has given some descent set ups to guys). but like everyone is saying, right now that's the idea. let the rook gun himself into the rookie of the year and a leader on the team and worry about wins after next season's draft lottery.

I can't imagine a "yes" being a big deal at this point.

I don't blame him all the way, because PJ should get others more involved. Wilcox is playing great, get him waaay more involved, as is Wilkens. and Green is averaging 10 and 4 in 20 minutes on 48% shooting...get that rookie more involved.

And this may sound stupid to some but as for that Lebron comparison I think his 41% back in 03/04 is much more impressive than 39% today. The whole league's perimeter players were getting between 40-44% and 44% was awesome, and that was likely due to zone's becoming legal. And when it changed and %s went up, it directly coincided with the handchecking calls being called to make things easier with the zone. So 39% today is just Adam Morrison like with double the shots.

Should Durant be considered for rookie of the year when he achieves his stats this way? You've got to assume that if Horford and Yi were given 25 shots a game, and weren't supposed to care about what's best for their team, they could also put up 20+ points.

He's averaging just under 20 shots per game.
As for his FG%, it should go up as season goes by.

I didn't catch the game... I almost never get to watch a west coast game. But I didn't understand the statline the other night against Orlando.

Damien Wilkins has been averaging like 20 points a night, but he only got 17 minutes against Orlando, scoring like 6 points or something.

What was up with that?

Jeff Green seemed to get a lot of his minutes, and he plunked in 12... but looked like garbage points. Orlando blew them out badly.

Was it just a case of Orlando getting the lead early and P.J. deciding to give his young guys a chance?

This whole situation is a joke. They're setting up to move the team to OK City and it sucks. Hard core. The only ones in the entire nation that support this are people from OK City.
