because Nash probably wont be putting up numbers like he did that year, and LeBron, will probably be winning less games.

Every year there is several teams in the 60 win range. I doubt that will be different this year and I doubt Kobe will be MVP if the Lakers only win 45 with Kobe statistically doing a little worse than 06-07.

Even if Kobe does get 55 wins or more and has a good stat record, he still won't get the mvp.

my criteria:

50+ wins
good stats
how far your team can go how much of a threat u can be
what your team becomes without you
teammates. if ur second best player is zydruneas ilgauskus, or a sophmore then somethings wrong.

this is why lebron should have got the award.

my criteria:
outstanding numbers of course AND leading his team beyond expectations. That does NOT mean it has to be 50+ wins.

What if the expectations were super high? By that I mean, Jordan after a while didn't lead beyond expectations after a while, he just met them because they were super high expectations.

good point.
I think there is a degree of "reasonableness" involved.

I agree with this statement Lebron should be winning his MVP this year if he can carry the Cavaliers to another 50 win in the regular season.

i believe that throughout shaq's career besides 05-06 and this season....

you could have put him on any team and he would have made that SG looking outstanding....

so shaq needs 12 more mvps..

goodnight

Since we're throwing out statlines for players assuming they keep it up I'll mention this one:

32.5 MPG
58 FG%
62 3PT%
100FT%
8.5APG
23.5PPG

His team is on pace to win 55 games, too.
