Nope. In the Summer of 2010 when Pat Riley visited Lebron James in Cleveland he let him know that Wade, and Bosh was going to Miami. He also let James know that he would have enough money to sign another big name free agent the following year.

This is not a hypothetical situation...The Heat did sign Wade and Bosh...and Pat Riley did have enough money to go after CP3, Melo, Dwight, etc.

So the question for you is this. Had Lebron not chosen Miami he would be staring at Wade, Bosh, and possibly Dwight.

The question is do you think that is fair to Lebron?

You sound like Lebron was the last option for Miami Heat to sign

so much wrong about this post.

First off, you made half of it up, you have no idea what Pat Riley did or didn't do, and there's more evidence pointing to the option that Bosh Wade & James colluded and had planned this out or at least thought of the idea of joining forces a long time ago, the way Wade & James set their contracts up to expire at the same time, Lebron changing his # to and then going to the only team in the league besides CHI that has #23 retired.

Secondly, Miami would have had to spend that extra cap space to fill out the rest of their roster after Wade & Bosh.

Third. Lebron could have manned up & stuck with his b2b 60+ win favorite for 2 years to make the finals team and recruited somebody to join HIS team.

Instead, Lebron chose to join somebody else's team, and the player he just so happened to choose to join had already won a title as the man of his team and was sporting a FMVP before Lebron had even reached the finals..

No I am sure Lebron was their key target besides resigning of Wade.

If you were Lebron and Riley is telling you Wade and Bosh will sign with the Heat and the Heat have cap space for one more star...And that last star could be either you, CP3, Melo, or Dwight...

What do you do? Go back to Cleveland? Go to NYC? or Chicago? Meanwhile the Heat forms yet another big three you have to go through besides Boston and LA and SA.

So if you are Lebron what would you do?

    Go to the Clippers?

This is so false. Dwight & Cp3's contracts don't expire until after THIS YEAR. Miami wouldn't have been able to save that much cap over 2 years. Miami would have had to spend their extra cap space to fill out the roster after signing Bosh & Wade.

Let's just forget the Spurs exist yeah? If anything the Westbrook injury increases the Spurs chance of making the finals which doesn't play in our favor. Parker and Ginobili are getting back to normal and Duncan's been fantastic. Duncan/Spliiter could give us some problems.

Have you watched this 37 year old Tim Duncan play lately? James and Wade won't be guarding them. It'll be on Bosh, Haslem, and Birdman. What about Parker and Ginobili? You think they're no good too?

I don't think any of those teams even when healthy could beat Miami in a 7 game series. It would be a little more competitive but that's about it.

If you want to be mad at anyone be mad at OKC for not re-signing Harden.

OKC wasn't gonna beat Miami without Harden.

Maybe if Dwight had gone to New Jersey with Deron they could've posed a bigger challenge for the Heat in the East.

None of those things happened though and crop of contenders this year was always a notch below.
