Why duke it out in the brutal West when you can coast in the East? If it works for Lebron, it can probably work for Durant he figures

They are a Detroit or Indiana level team.
I'm not sure they would beat them.

Then he has to finally beat LeBron which still seems doubtful

Doesn't really have Much to do with this post, but low key Pilly is one of the smartest teams. Why even bother putting a somewhat good team out there and lose to Lebron when you can tank and acquire talent for the next couple years, then begin to compete when Lebron is near the end of his career/retired.

Because he'll be near 30 by the time he actually has a decent team

If this is true, he is telling them who to go get. He is playing gm before he even joins the team.

I wouldn't be holding my breath that this actually happens (I see him taking a 1 with a player option deal back in OKC) but if this is actually legit, I wonder who he'd actually be after on his team? Who does he see as his Wade and Bosh?

Yeah how smart is that franchise. Be ass for a decade, lose a ton of money, be a running joke in the NBA and then.... STRIKE FOR THE RINGS

Pretty sure Bill Simmons was the first one to publicly state this (though most of us likely already thought it), but the NBA is set up to really only reward the really good or the really bad.

If you know you won't be really good (bad current players, ATG in the middle of his prime in your conference, etc), then you might as well be really bad.

If the NBA wants that to change, then they need to change their reward system.

Yup, I dont really buy this; it makes too much sense for Durant to go back to OKC for at least one more year.

But if true, I wonder who the "other guys" are. Jimmy Butler? Whiteside?
