The competition in the East Conf. Who surprises you the most?

I know we did the EC rank game a month or so ago but there are some surprises already.

Downside surprise :

1) Pistons.

I perhaps am a little blind in always over rating the Pistons but the talent on paper is there. Drummond, Monroe, Josh..I honestly thought a Van Gundy coached team was at least 500 with that talent - spacing issues or not

2) Hornets

Went out and signed talent to add to a middling fair roster. Have not delivered.

Upside surprise :

1) Pacers.

Playing effectively in all games and staying close.

Here comes Van Gundy and the Pistons.

Great article at SI.com. This 7 game streak is a streak because there is no way the removal of Josh Smith actually converts Brandon Jennings into a Steph Curry clone..

But in essence.. gone is a long range clunker shooter used wrongly and the team is better off for it in terms of minutes, ball distribution, % shooting.

We beat them at Christmas but I see the Pistons as a "danger team" if they find consistency.
