Charles Barkley was nearly traded to the Spurs in 1992
Before he was traded to the Suns. The deal was Barkley for Terry Cummings and Willie Anderson. It was vetoed by the Spurs owner who didn't want to pay Barkley.
Barkley for 2 role players!
Robinson/Barkley/Elliot front line, with Avery Johnson/Dale Ellis backcourt. Could they have beaten the Bulls?

Wow. They could've had a great chance to beat them with Charles playing so good and Robinson at his best.

He was almost traded to the Lakers around that same time. I remember Barkley mentioning it once.

How did I not know this? Probably for the best. Could have screwed our chances at Duncan years later.
I know he also almost went to the Blazers.

LOL at the revisionists putting him over the likes of Garnett and Dirk.. dude is a bum tbqhwy.
This has to be the worst and dumbest reasoning I have ever seen.

I guess that makes Jordan the unquestioned GOAT for winning six rings with a Roy Rogers and second round pick level player as his sidekick.

Knowing Chuck's personality, some teams probably did not want him for his antics and seeing what the Suns gave up for him, he probably forced his way there...
Would have won at least 1 title with D-Rob in 94 IMO.

Game. Set. Match.
Re: Charles Barkley was nearly traded to the Spurs in 1992
Chuck had the sickest 1st quarter in the history of the sport. Unfortunately it was against my team.

Correct. Barkley had developed a reputation as a headcase and a hot head; teams were hesitant about taking a chance on him. But his talent was never in question.

In retrospect, it's a good thing this didn't happen.
