True. Jennings has been by far the best PG in the EC.

Lebron and Chris Paul didn't make the All-Star team as rookies so i don't see how Jennings will.

    Probably.

    8th in scoring
    5th in 3pt FG%
    14th in assists
    10th in PTS+REBS+AST

Basically the only players ahead of him are Dream Teamers, MVPs, ALL-NBA first teamers or Kevin Martin.

    That's idiot logic.

    tontoz World:

    Young rookie comes to nba
Young rookie has stellar first half of season averaging 25/5/4 ppg
Young rookie doesn't make allstar team because of LeBron James and CP3 didn't make the allstar team as rookies.

False, Jennings will not make the AS team. But'll make the rookie team.

The OP isn't talking about Jennings making the all star game as a sophmore he's talking about this coming all star game.

Keep in mind ... there have been 10-12 games so far this season. So really it's to early to tell. Teams are just getting correct scouting reports on this guy.

Does he DESERVE to make it if we were doing All-Stars for this early in the season? Yes. WILL he end up making it in February? Maybe, that depends a lot on politics and which teams have the most wins, since coaches seem wedded to the idea of rewarding good teams w/absurd picks (see Mo Williams last year).

After watching him play the Mavs last night, he reminds me a lot of Steve Nash. He's a great shooter who can pull-up or shoot a floater in the lane at will, yet he hardly ever forces the action and looks to get his teammates involved. Really at 20 years old the only holes in his game are on defense, some of which will be fixed through experience, some of which will haunt him his whole career (small and slight frame).

Personally, the only PG's I would definitely take over him if I were running a team this year ... Paul, Williams, Nash and a healthy Baron Davis.

    Paul put up 16.1 ppg (43%), 7.8 apg, 5.1 rpg, 2.2 spg
    Lebron put up 20.9 ppg (42%), 5.9 apg, 5.5 rpg, 1.6 spg
    Jennings so far 25.5 ppg (48%), 5.5 apg, 4.3 rpg, 1.1 spg

His stats are right in that same tier with the superstars, and the competition is a lot different. Jennings doesn't have to beat Lebron or CP3 in any way - he has to beat Rondo, Rose, Arenas, VC.

You are the only idiot here. Just because you don't have the mental capacity to understand that coaches are highly unlikely to pick a rookie for the All-Star game doesn't mean that isn't the truth.

Lebron averaged 21 ppg, 5.5 rebounds and 6 assists his rookie year and didn't get in.

You probably aren't aware than Jennings hot start also means defense will be paying a little more attention to him after his 55 pt game, making it harder to maintain his average.

Please name the last rookie to make the All-Star team.

The OP isn't asking whether or not Jennings would deserve it. He is asking whether or not he will actually make it. I don't think so simply because he is a rookie.

So you don't think he's a legit 25 ppg scorer? Defenses focus in on guys like Michael Redd, Kevin Martin, Jamal Crawford, Ben Gordon... there are lots of non-superstars who can put up those type of points even with the defense well aware of their tendancies. Why isn't Jennings one of those players?

Do you really believe that Jennings' numbers are going to look like that at the end of the season?

Let's not forget Redd coming back which is sure to take away some of Jennings shot attempts.

Why? No rookies from other years are going to time travel to the present to compete with Jennings for the 2010 eastern conference backup guard spot. The only important question is who deserves the spot more amongst Jennings, Arenas, Rose, Rondo, Nelson, Carter, Allen, Johnson.

Really doesn't matter what Lebron, or Paul, or Stockton, or Bob Cousy did as rookies.

I bet you the coaches of the Warriors and Nuggets are going to think long and hard about giving him a vote already. Maybe the list will keep growing.
