I'm expecting Kobe to lose this matchup. If he evens comes close, on his first day back vs the best current SG, then I might move him up a spot in the GOAT list

I will believe it about Kobe and the quality of his play when I see it. There were multiple reports last year about how great Kobe looked at practice while preparing for his debut with his teammates, and then he came out a shell of his former self.

In fairness to Kobe, he only played in a handful of games last year, six games, I believe, before injuring himself, so the sample sizes small and he was never given a chance to play himself into proper shape. But what we saw was not good.

He was smart not to rush himself back for the last month or two last season. So hopefully, he is ready to go from the get-go the season and can play at a high-level again. But I have my doubts due to his age, the mileage on his body and multiple serious injuries. We shall see. The best thing that he has going for him is that he is so fundamentally sound.

1st off - practice is nothing like an actual NBA game
2nd - Kobe looked rusty his first 3 games, he looked pretty much like his old self @Charlotte & @Memphis, even after he fractured his knee, he hit a deep 3 to seal the game, scoring with ease over Tony Allen all night.

He still had it when he came back, he was getting his legs back with every game, a knee fracture is hardly as bad as an achilles tear, especially the fracture Kobe had.
