Sounds like a amazing toy for $1k.... Is it worth it? Way i see it from the video ad:

pro's:
-You could use this over crowds of people and record the whole thing from a top view(much more coverage). It'd bring a whole new dimension to youtube/home video's of all types maybe? people drone spying on each other?

-automatic low on fuel return

-seems like a very high quality camera

-looks like really nice and steady helicopter design.

-$1k isn't bad at all

-980 ft streaming control distance

-700 ft~ FAA height limit

-1 battery charge up to 25 min of flying

Cons: Big cons i see is it getting stuck in tree's or phone/power lines,

don't know about water proof,

can it handle birds?,


Losing $1k real quick isn't fun either.


I'm still real tempted in getting this toy. Its as low as $650~ on Google search vendors.

14 megapixel isn't bad either. It's probably the first few generations. I'd wait it out until it gets progressively better.

They are fun toys. Immediately after flying one, I wanted it.

However, they aren't exactly perfect with wind. Battery life is pretty terrible as well.

They're fun, but if you're not handy enough to fix them you might as well just light your money on fire because they're guaranteed to break within a couple days.

Can the couple hundred ones stream video to your tablet/smartphone? That seems to be the determining factor here.

But, they are surprisingly durable. Everything breaks "right" as well. Just put it back together.

I've decided to let the technology advance for a while before buying one.

They have a ways to go with the auto-return home type of GPS technology.

We lost signal when the battery went juiced and the thing went on a kamikaze like descent. Duck!

As long as you don't set a flight path out of their range it's unlikely you'll lose one.

Hardest part is manually landing it without breaking it once it returns to position above you.
