Default Re: Your NBA 2K10 Association Mode

Well, due to my 360 suffering the RROD and not being under warranty anymore, I had to go out and get a new one. I got a used one from a friend for $150 so it wasn't bad, but I lost that Bucks dynasty. Which sucks becuase I was having a lot of fun with it. And yes, I basically was playing like the Phoenix Suns. SSOL type offense, getting out and running with Jennings, and Redd going for about 31 a game. Jennings was good for 20 and 20 a night and Bogut was close to 20 and 20 as well. A fun dynasty that I hate losing.

I did just start a new one up (did a fantasy draft serpentine style) with the Celtics. I had the 5th pick in the first round, 26th in the 2nd, 5th in the 3rd, 26th in the 4th, etc. Here's my roster.

    Rd 1. KG
    Rd 2. VC
    Rd 3. Gerald Wallace
    Rd 4. Ty Lawson
    Rd 5. Okur
    Rd 6. Nocioni
    Rd 7. Stackhouse
    Rd 8. Brandan Wright
    Rd 9. Janero Pargo
    Rd 10. Brendan Haywood
    Rd 11. Desmond Mason
    Rd 12. Taylor Griffin

(I'm a UNC fan so I like to get some UNC flavor on my roster whenever possible. I'm sure you can see that with me having Lawson, VC, Stackhouse, Wright, and Haywood.)

Starting Lineup (moved Jefferson to the 2)

    Lawson
    VC
    Wallace
    Garnett
    Okur

    Pargo
    Stackhouse
    Nocioni
    Wright
    Haywood

    melo
    bargnani
    nene

did some trades, it was ray allen for baron davis and JR smith, then scraps for gallo
    now got

davis (still have lawson as a back up)
    gallinari/jr smith
    melo
    bargs

I did a redraft(2nd pick), and im 6-0 so far.

    CE-Joakim Noah/Ronny Turiaf
    PF-Marreese Speights/Hakim Warrick/Taylor Griffin
    SF-LeBron James/Jamario Moon
    SG-Ray Allen/Roger Mason
    PG-Steve Nash/Earl Boykins

I feel stupid I cant remember the other guys name. Its too early for me tothink. But yeah, I love this team. This backcourt is seriously dangerous. Ive also got LBJ averaging around 3spg, leading the league

Ok. I played a game with that team, didn't like the way things flowed, how some of the players play on the game, etc. So I did a re-draft. With the Pistons

    Lawson
    VC
    Rashard Lewis
    Duncan
    Camby

    Jason Williams
Tracy McGrady (worked a trade to get him)
    Kirilenko
    Gooden
    Aaron Gray

Finally got a dynasty going where it's been more competitive and I'm not blowing everyone out by 35+.

    So far I'm 6-0

    vs. Rockets W 115-98
    vs. 76ers W 146-136 F/OT
    @ Clippers W 110-98
    @ Nuggets W 117-110
    @ Jazz W 127-109
    vs. T-Wolves W 126-100

Some of those were closer than the final score indicated. Either I got hot in the final 2 minutes, made FT's b/c the CPU was intentionally fouling, and/or the CPU went cold down the stretch.

    Lawson: 11.3 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 18.7 apg, .472 FG%, .941 FT%

    Carter: 23.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.2 apg, .659 FG%, .769 3P%, .933 FT%

    Lewis: 15.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 2.0 apg, .544 FG%, .642 3P%, .909 FT%

    Duncan: 31.5 ppg, 13.3 rpg, 3.8 apg, .828 FG%, .714 FT%

    Camby: 12.8 ppg, 7.0 3ppg, 4.3 apg, 2.2 bpg, .472 FG%, .941 FT%

    McGrady: 15.2 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 4.5 apg, 2.2 spg, .450 FG%, .771 FT%

    Gooden: 8.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, .718 FG%

    Gray: 6.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 1.2 apg, .500 FG%, 1.000 FT% (12/12)

That's not a type on Duncan's or VC's shooting %'s. 99.9% of Duncan's shots are layups or dunks, and most of my shots with Vince are at the rim as well. VC and Shard are scorching it from deep. I don't shoot a lot of threes but when they are left wide open they knock it down quite a bit, as the numbers indicate.

I play HOF 12 min quarters, w Pareds sliders from Operationsports.com forums. I am currently 5-2 with the Clippers, Ive gone 2-1 with me playing and I simmed the others because I was in the middle of the game but I had to leave the house. I am using the Clippers with:

    Kaman
    Griffin
    Thornton
    Gordon
    Baron

    bench:
    Camby
    Jordan
    Smith
    Davis
    Butler
    Telfair
    Novak
    Skinner
    Collins
    Rush

I am avg 30 PPG and 12 APG with Baron and 21 PPG with Kaman, and I need to find a way to move either Kaman or Camby to free up some minutes for Deandre Jordan because hes a beast and dunks almost anything in the paint this game. I am doin my best to run Dumbleavys rotation BTW.

I've been offered DeAndre Jordan a couple of times already in a trade. I may have to go work one oout for him if what you say is true. Gray's shooting percentage was 50% when I posted that last night, but I've played 3 games since then and he's something like a combined 3/16. I had back to back 1/6 games with him. And he's not missing tough shots either. They're layups or turn around baby hooks.

Griffin is a beast on the game as well. I had a dynasty mode going where I had drafted him in a fantasy draft (as my backup PF) and after 5 or 6 games he was averaging like 14/6 while only getting 12-14 minutes in a 36 minute game. I would have started him but I liked having the scoring spark off the bench since no one else in my second unit was a real threat to score.

dj is really good in the game at put back dunks, and rebounding, he can't post up well though

Well Gray is given me solid prodcution the last three games

    12 min, 6 pts, 3 reb, 2 blk
    10 min, 8 pts, 3 reb, 3 asts
    12 min, 8 pts, 4 reb

But before that he kept missing a ton of easy lay ups or baby hooks and it was really annoying me. If he keeps this play up, though, I'll keep him.

Am I the only one that is BEYOND tired of having a pass go right through one of your post player's hands and out of bounds? This happens to me 3-5 times a game when trying to make a pass to Gooden (while he's unguarded, pass doesn't get tipped or anything) and it either goes through his hands, or bounces off his hands and out of bounds. I looked and his 'Hands' rating is a 37. I upped it to about a 48 so hopefully it'll cut back on this problem. Gooden is a solid PF and would be in any team's rotation. He shouldn't be that bad at catching the ball. Not even the worst bigs in the league are THAT bad at catching the ball.

Right now it looks like I could have two All-Star starters in Camby and Dunca. I'm hoping I can at least get VC on the roster.

Did a new dynasty with the Clippers with the serpentine fantasy draft, my team is:

    C - Marc Gasol/Deandre Jordan/Dan Gadzuric
    PF - Blake Griffin/Andray Blatche/James Johnson
    SF - Trevor Ariza/Danillo Gallinari
SG - OJ Mayo/ Jr Smith/ James White
PG - Steve Nash/ Jrue Holiday/ Shaun Livingston

I also had some random scrub cpu generated I guess I forgot his name. Im 5-1 so far on Superstar and 12 min quarters.

It looks like some you guys get as bored with a team and do as many "re-drafts" as I do.

One team can keep my attention for 8-12 games. Right now I'd say I have 8-10 different asssociation modes saved on my hard drive. Some are actual rosters, some aren't. Combined I've probably played 65 games in all of them. The furthest along into one of them is the current one with the Pistons (Lawson/VC/Lewis/Duncan/Camby) where I'm 14-0. For some reason I'm really enjoying playing with this team and haven't got bored with it yet.

The team I posted above is amazing. Im planning on making a team with some rookies tomorrow, seeing as I never bother with them. Probably going to be a 58 game season(the one I posted above is just 29)
