He just needs to start playing extended minutes somewhere, d-league or not.

I don't get people who wanna criticize MB for not playing him, do you really wanna reward a rookie who loafs around like that with more playing time? Do you want a coach catering to his fragile psyche?

MB should treat him like any other rookie. You work hard on the court regardless if your shots fall you will play. You play like a jackass cause your shots aren't falling sit the bench.

Night and day from when this kid was in college... WTF happened.

I personally think, apart from jump shooting, a lot of his struggles come from having to adjust to bigger and better defenders... He often overpowered those subpar Mountain West Conference teams where his height wasn't much of an issue... he can't do that on the Nba level... couple that with the fact that he always lacked post skills and has a shaky handle for a supposed faceup power forward, then his struggles aren't that surprising to me...

I was optimistic that he would get his shit together once he loses that weight... well, he lost most of that weight now and still looks terrible...
At least the weakness of this draft class makes it easier for me to have patience with him...

i'm a pretty patient guy but man oh man... some games he looks like he's getting better, he's hustling, setting screens like a man, getting back on D, etc.

and then you have a game like the sixers game where he just gets frustrated and takes a couple possessions off. Prior to that dreaded sequence he really was hustling and playing with energy but after that missed dunk.. yeesh.

TT and Andy V. need to have a heart to heart with the kid. Especially TT. Besides being another Brampton guy Tristan did not have a great rookie year by any means and look where he is today. He too had a lot of questions about whether or not he was worthy for his pick.

He just looks fat. He needs to do some lifting if he is down to his usual weight.

Yeah, hopefully he can turn it around like TT... But TT at least stood out in something right away, he was instantly an above average defender and rebounder... Bennett on the other hand, (while he had some good rebounding games), looks average or worse in all categories of the game...

    Why didn't Cleveland pick Oladipo?

he is an above average rebounder, even at this point. I know what the numbers say but the guy hasn't played consistent enough minutes for the stats to be really meaningful.

Bennett is a good man defender.

TT came in to the league without being able to shoot or dribble the ball. Bennett def. had the shooting touch in college but i don't know if it was the torn labrum or the nervousness but it's like he forgot how to shoot.

Did Cle really need another undersized SG that isn't such a great floor spacer?
I like his game but Cle wanted to swing for the fences with their pick. Shame that Bennett turned out the way he did.

He's obviously better than Bennett at this point,
but while his defense is good, his 13 points on 40% shooting and 29% 3-Pointers is nothing to brag about...

people would still be crucifying grant if he had picked oladipo. I can picture it now. "Only the cavs would pick a 3rd year college player defensive specialist with the number 1 pick"

This draft class just sucked at the top. Its early I know, and there are some promising rookies that fell, but man.
