Re: Kristaps Porzingis... why are more people not talking about this kid in the draft.
He's likely gone by 6 at the latest. I'd love him in Detroit next to Drummond. He kind of has a game that's half AK, half Dirk.

Ive mentioned him as a possible choice for orlando if we pick 5 or 6, someone here said he is slow though but reports I've read think he will be a solid nba defender. I think he will have to show a lot in work outs to climb

Wouldn't surprise me at all. In an (I think Zach Lowe) article it said that the Magic front office is trying to build a floor-spacing frontcourt that allows driving lanes for Payton/Dipo. His lack of strength is a problem, but apparently he's mobile enough to cover a good amount of ground in defending PnRs.

There is always a built in bias against European players in the USA. This is a basic fact.
Anyway, Porzingis is very talented and skilled for his size, and his athletic level is really high for his size also, but he's also uber soft.

Are you convinced yet after all this time and all these crazy kind of comments here?

Yeah, he wasn't even on my radar until today. I'd been completely overlooking him because he hadn't shown up in any Pistons mocks (I think usually predicted to be gone by then).
I didn't get a big Andrei Kirilenko feel from him though, aside from his looks and build (let alone Dirk Nowitzki). I remember Kirilenko being a non-stop motor guy who loved defense (or played as if he did). From what I've heard about Porzingis so far, he's big enough to be a good defender and he's athletic, but all the skills and mind speed, so to speak, aren't really there yet; also apparently dislikes contact and is relatively soft - two things I never really thought of Andrei.

Porzingis is absolutely nothing like Kirilenko at all. And Kirilenko does not have a very good motor either. So not sure where he got that reputation from. Kirilenko takes off quarters and halves all the time during games, and hell, he takes off whole stretches of seasons all the time. Kirilenko has a very poor motor. He can only play effectively in stretches.

I saw someone mention Jan Vesely earlier. Is their any chance it's that kind of situation? A tall guy who can run and dunk well but may not have all the abilities to make things work in the long run? Or is his shot more reliable and whatnot?
I don't think he's worth a lottery pick, probably late first round but the Queens will probably take the chance to compliment Cousins. He is not a banger, just a softie with length and good motor and likes to play outside and stroke it and a little bit of a handle. He can also play off the ball with some cutting and slashing. I don't think he can create his own shot .
