Theirs no point in tanking when the guy at pick 5 may be around at pick 15 too
Well I think there were hopes they might even be in the top 5 if they unloaded their assets early. Thts obviously off the table now so I agree, might as well even push for a 7 or 8 seed since a 10-15 pick isn

    It's not totally unforeseen...

CP3 has got one of the worse contracts in the league, but he's still one of the best floor generals in the league and is a two way player.
Gallo has recovered from his early career injury woes and is a decent player in his prime.
Adams was widely considered one of the better bigs in the league and is in his prime as well.
Add in a few decent role players like Schroder and Noel along with a bunch of young players with good upside and you have an OK team(pun intended), 8th seed shouldn't be too surprising.

As much as they might have wanted to and maybe still want to trade CP3, he is proving his value and is mentoring the young guards there quite well. It might be just as well for them to just let the chips fall where they may this year and have a solid CP3 on a contract that is 1 year shorter to trade in the off season after getting a good season of mentoring out of him.

Yeah, I don't know why people are surprised?

CP3 is old, but still a big time leader and winner.

Gallo is a legit first option scorer.

Adams is a legit defensive center.

    Decent team.

I think Mavs need to move at this and try to get Adams.

I had no idea SGA was gonna be this good, he's gonna have a very good career. I can see some all-defense teams, possibly DPOY as well.

Shai will be one of their pillars in the coming years, they don't need to tank.
