I really like Nash considering he's an old Mav and I just like his game but I've realized that there are just people that disregard reality and substitute their own. Those people would vote for Nash this year.
Nash just didnt have a bad game. Iverson owned Nash. Nash actually tried to guard him and AI killed him. But the media wont even show any of it, i havent even seen the highlights on ESPN or ESPN news. Yesterday Kobe waas all over and the performances were equal

My question is now about 65+ games through the year who are the serious candidates. We all know theres Dirk and Nash. I guess Bron is making a big 2nd half push with his team looking set to win 50+ games again. Then who? Chris Bosh? Kobe? I can't really find any more players whose season deserves to be contenders for MVP.

The MVP shouldn't be about wether or not your team wins. If Dallas can't beat Phoenix because Dirk missed FTs and fadeaways over Marion, Dirk is the MVP. If the Suns can't win when Nash has a huge game/not playing, Nash is the MVP.
Yes, you could use this and say that Kobe should have won MVP last year, and I agree. But your team has to at least win or come close to winning games. Lakers lost to Suns in first round when Kobe got them 3-1 lead. Kobe thought he could sit back and rest for the second round, but in Gm5 they got blown out. OK, so Kobe scores 50 in the next game, but Lakers still loose. See why he's not MVP?
If you don't understand, even though Kobe had a huge game, it wasn't enough to make his team win.
Nash and Nowtizki and make their team win, no matter the opponent.
Yes, it also does come down to your role-players, depth and chemistry, so you do have to have at least somewhat of a team to get MVP.
Re: Did Nash gibe the MVP back to Dirk these last 2 games?
1. Who are the voters for the NBA MVP award?
2. Michael Wilbon said he is leaning towards calling Nash the MVP based on the game vs Dallas and his performance. I wonder if he is a voter?

Who are the voters for the NBA MVP award?
It's split between:
newspaper columnists/reporters
national television media
local television media
Now exactly how many people have a vote I cannot tell you that. It changes every year. And not everyone in those fields of media have a vote. For example at ESPN only about 3 people have a vote. Walton, Hollinger, not sure who else but there are only a couple. On ABC there are like 4 or 5. Patrick, Wilbon, Jackson and Breen. Perhaps someone else not entirely sure. Then whomever does your local broadcast has a vote. For the Mavs it is Ortegal and Followell. For the Clippers it is Lawler and Smith. They all have a vote. But that vote is a shared vote for some reason. Then you have the local writers... generally speaking the guys on PTI.
That pretty much sums it up. But the secret is exactly how many are voting so it's tough to guage who wins it unless there is a runaway winner. And this year it will be extremely close whomever wins the award.

ohh... i'll give you a conspiracy. Nash loses MVP race because of that AI crossover that will never be shown. Nash's ankle will not heal until the end of the season and his performance will suffer. Dirk needs to thank AI for owning Nash yesterday because AI just gave him the MVP with the crossover of the year.

AI crossed over MJ ugly too
btw, do you think March Madness may have had something to do with the highlights of that game not being the featured clips of SC?
damn Liberal media once again backing those Liberal minded collegians.
Re: Did Nash gibe the MVP back to Dirk these last 2 games?
The reason for the media blitz against Dirk is that the game was against the Suns on a national stage late in the season. The game was hyped so much, and so much emphasis was placed on the MVP during the week previous, that you had to expect some kind of backlash to the loser. This also gave the media a chance to reflect on the NBA Finals where Dirk didn't really show. If the Suns lose that game, people would be praising Dirk and questioning Nash's leadership after the Suns were destroyed in the second and third quarters. I beg of people to stop playing the "Dirk gets no respect" card.
