Shaq finally gets his first win over the Admiral in 6 tries. Robinson has a very good game with 34p in just 35 mins and plays good D on Shaq but the Magic are able to outplay the Spurs down the stretch

Rodman with all the rebounds. :) After watching the first five plays I check the boxscore to see how many and it has Rodman with 11 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists in 36 minutes.

With all the hype surounding O'Neal even before his rookie season we can all see that in his first 3 seasons he was schooled on several occasions by Hakeem, DRob and even Ewing, who were great in both ends at the floor and we can see how they torched Shaq with their midrange jump shots. In comparision to them Shaq's game looks very raw and simple - just powering his way towards basket for a dunk or little hooks/layps.

In fact part of the reason Shaq was so dominant is that after 1995 Hakeem, DRob and Ewing start to decline while he bein a lot younger enters his prime. Shaq was the flag of the new hip hop generation, but it doesn't bring good to the center position (with the exception of Duncan,who plays more than half of his career at PF). And that's why foregn players like P. Gassol looks skillful, in US there is no skillful big men anymore.

Imagine these 2 playing in today's talent depleted center position. Damn!

That was pretty much Shaq's game. In L.A. he perfected the drop step and that was it as far as improving his game.

Also his ball handling ablities helped him alot. There has never been a better ballhandling 7`1 ft guy like that of Shaq. His black tornado spins are also a trait he developed after whatching Sir Charles play: in his spin moves close to the baseline and painted area.

His passing improved as well factoring in the triangle offense. Not forgetting his defense Shaq's my favourite player but I can admit he was schooled early in his career by more veteran Centers but it was all in the learning process.

I want to appologize, Gasol looks skillful because ... he is skillful off course. What I want to say is that there are no skillful big men in US, and they lacked the fundamentals. Probably a bad example - what I really want to say is that centers nowadays plays/or try to play like Shaq, and their offensive game fall in comparision to players like Gasol.

Had Gasol played in 90s he wouldn't made such an impresion as there were some very skillfull big men at the time - no need to mention them.
