now we're at the point where o'neal is one of the most athletic players to ever step on the court. a guy who rivals all combine monsters. a true freak with a 4.3 40 and a 42 inch vertical who could DUNK FROM THE FOUL LINE! WOW! CAN HE JUMP! how about that between the legs dunk that o'neal did in the dunk contest? OH MY GOODNESS!

this is getting ridiculous.

o'neal was just bigger than everybody and he had good balance and speed in the paint. no other 300 pound player had that.

anybody who thinks he was more athletic than garnett, or carter, or 30 other actual freak athletes is a moron.

You know athleticism has just as much to do with strength as quickness and vert.

there's no getting around the fact that Shaq could overpower anyone smaller than him and was 10x more agile and quick then those few around his size.

He wasn't a Wilt calibre athlete, but O'neal was very gifted phyiscally.

Ifr you wanna go non-athlete, you really gotta pick a stiff.

I think Mark Eaton was great in the eighties for a mechanic/baller

Carter is a world class high jumper (7 feet plus)

Don't confuse Shaq's great footwork, quickness and brute power with world class athleticism.

he's probably quicker than Shaq and probably ahs better lateral movement, so I am not sure of your point here.

Shaq is incredibly quick on the block but he cannot maintain that quickness for anything more than a step or two.

I hear what you are saying about Shaq being a good athlete, they guy worked hard (1000 calf raises a day for example) to be quick, but calling him a better athlete than Carter is just ignorant. Vince does things all the time that 99.99999999999% of the world cant do.

Are you serious? Can you see that guy as a tight end or defensive end?

I'm thinking Hornaceck as a guy that wasn't real athletic, but made a good living on playing smart and intense.
