Shaq had 14 points and 8 rebs on 14 shots

Kobe had 11/3/5 and struggled since Shaq was in foul trouble, allowed Pistons to just double/triple team him all game since no one else on that team could score

team outside Shaq/Kobe shot 16/47 and had a total of 43 points

In other words Shaq played better than kobe AGAIN.
Why even mention Shaq? We're talking about Kobe's abysmal performance here.

Awful yet again when the stakes are high.

Doesn't understand basketball. Doesn't understand that Shaq couldn't keep himself on the floor which allowed the Pistons to just load up on Kobe and his teammates miss 31 out of 47 shots

    Same height as MJ

    Same Skills as MJ

But failed to copy MJ's high basketball IQ, and shot selection.

26.6 PPG 10.8 RPG on 63% FG in the Finals. Kobe attempted 29 more field goals than Shaq while playing only 18 more minutes than Shaq did.

Shaq wasn't the one being doubled

Kobe was Lakers' first option all year of course he was going to get more shots. How are you going to ignore the fact that Shaq by 2004 was averaging 14 shots a game? He got a lot more touches than he did in any other series/regular season. It's a sweep if Kobe doesn't hit that three in Game 2.

Plus, Shaq had 30 more FTA than Kobe and almost the same usage rate overall. People need to understand that this wasn't prime Shaq and they need to understand that the Lakers were outmatched as a team.

    Fisher 6.4 pts 1.8 ast 30.6%FG
    George 5.8 pts 2.8 reb 39.3%FG
    Payton 4.2 pts 4.4 ast 32.1%FG
    Malone 5.0 pts 7.3 reb 33%FG
    Medvedenko 3.6 pts 3.6 reb 35.3%FG
    Rush 3.6 pts 1.0 reb 31.8%FG

OTOH 5 Pistons played averaged double digit points, even Ben Wallace.

Lol so you're saying the Center with a reputation of being a poor FT shooter gets to the line more? Lakers lost because Kobe tried to play hero ball instead of team ball. Pistons threw Big Ben on Shaq in single coverage and Shaq had his way every time. No reason to go away from that.

Shaq most certainly was the one getting detroits attention on defense. Ofcourse, if he wasn't, then he should have been fed the ball by Kobe instead of having to watch Kobe jack up shot after shot to the tune of 37%fg.

Ofcourse chokers gonna choke and his own coach wrote a back bashing him after that finals
