Do you know what a double team is? There are times where he goes to the basket and there are other people there, but double teams were rarely sent to him in that video.

Playoff Scoring:
Player A: 35.8 (on road)
Player B: 23.6 (on road)
Player A: 27.3 (at home)
Player B: 35.8 (at home)
Can you guess who these were?

I never got to watch that series but can anyone explain to me why the spurs got destroyed so badly that series even with homecourt advantage? Did they have some kind of injury problem?

It's a shame Kobe stans are for the most part a bunch of retards, because Kobe truly is/was a boss.

Spurs were missing their starting SG in Derek Anderson who was a big part of the team that year. Lakers were the better team anyway, but considering that the 2001 Spurs weren't great offensively, losing one of your most dyanmic scorers in the backcourt hurt a lot.

As a Spurs fan, Kobe used to scare me in a way Lebron never did.

Watching the video as Kobe pushes the ball up the court the Spurs team are already collapsing towards shaq almost every time..
Must be easy making all those open shots and layups because shaq was such a threat...

Riiiiiiight.
That's why Shaq continuously lost in the playoffs (and swept) before Kobe's emergence.

Re: kobe bryant destroying the 01 spurs in the POs
San Antonio came into that series with the best record and also the top ranked defense in the league that year. This series was easily viewed as the real NBA championship by most people.
One of the things that helped the Lakers significantly in the series was the hot shooting of Derek Fisher from the three-point line, which I believe he made 15 of his 20 fga's in the series. But overall, it was a combination of the Spurs having injuries on the perimeter, hot shooting from Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant simply playing superb basketball. Kobe had a tendency to play better on the road during that time and Shaq would do more domination at home, mostly because Shaq would regularly get into foul trouble on the road due to his bruising style.
It was remarkable to hear Shaq call Kobe the best player in the league during/after that series given their tumultuous history together, especially with Shaq being the MVP just the previous year.
