Re: Julius Randle Injury Update
The 19-year-old Randle was injured when he collided with two Houston players under the Lakers' basket midway through the final period. He was in obvious pain as the Lakers' medical staff tended to him, eventually immobilizing his leg while Kobe Bryant gripped his hand in support.

Re: Julius Randle Injury Update
I think we need to bring Metta back so we can really play some "smashmouth" basketball. When we had metta he was not too good guarding 1,2,3 but pretty good with opposing 4's. Still has some value I would think.

Laker News: Julius Randle to have another surgery tomorrow
Randle will have a screw replaced in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot, a remnant from a previous surgery after a high school injury.
The 6-foot-9 power forward from Kentucky is already out for the season after breaking his right leg on opening night in October.
The surgery will be performed at Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedic Center by Dr. David Thordarson.
Randle was drafted by the Lakers with the seventh overall pick in June.
Reports before the draft that Randle would eventually need foot surgery might have helped him fall to the Lakers.
The Lakers said they expect Randle to fully recover from both injuries.

Turns out that those draft day rumors were not that far from reality. Hope he recovers fully.

I agree. Whatever he has to do to be good for next season then just get it done and over with now.

Hopefully this situation turned out like a Blake Griffin 2.0 Where due to injury they were out all season but then return the next season as stronger players.

Randle update
Randle has been cleared to resume on court "no contact" activities and will begin traveling with the team to be near the training staff during this stage of his rehab

Thanks for the update. I would like to know if the Lakers plan to get him a personal tutor to work on his game. It's such a huge setback for him and the Lakers when he got injured right on the first game, I mean if he is playing right now, he would have been really contributing next season. Experience factor is irreplaceable but having a personal trainer would help.

Re: Randle update
Does next year count as his rookie year? He played for about 5 minutes
