Burks. Burke is the one with the hype.
This could turn out to be a good deal. Rather pay him that than Gordon 16.5 million or whatever. Alec is arguably their best player. Best scorer. Gets to the line. Great defensive potential. Improving shot. Can play 3 positions.

There's going to be plenty of money in two years and Neto looks better anyway not to mention Exum, Hood and Gobert. Kanter has a lot to prove yet before he gets paid by the Jazz. Sure someone will pay him.

Re: BREAKING: Jazz sign Alec Burks to extension; 4 years, $42 million
Unless Exum turns out to be a superstar, the Jazz are going to suck for the next 5 years. Hell, even if he does wind up being good they'll still probably suck with that core locked in around him.

The system is broken though. Its not dumb gms/owners. Its the system....always the system.
Next lockout we will hear about how these things cant continue..then they will get a new system...and do it anyway.

I've barely ever heard of this guy. He's worth $10M/year?

We'll see. They're the 3rd youngest team in the league. Another high pick coming next summer. Two of their best players are playing in Spain right now.

Not now no. These contracts are usually based on potential. The increasing salary cap makes it hard to say what he's really worth. I'd rather pay him that than pay Favors and Hayward what they are getting. He's got more upside. He's continuing to improve. He's got an elite skill, getting to the line.
