3. Athletes are not good 1 hr interview subjects....Give an athlete two 5 minutes segments on Leno, where they set up some jokes and tell one funny story and they're all set. Over the course of a full show, there isn't much there -- unless they want to really tell their stories (clubs, groupies, gangs in their youth, training camp), which no image-conscience ahtlete will do.
2. SAS is not a good interviewer. He does not listen, he does not react. He simply asks the next question. He did not control the interview into the interesting areas, rather let the athletes control it - -and athletes don't know what is interesting
1. SAS was not SAS on the show. Fans of SAS want to see him. He still yelled, but he yelled complimants, not analysis. He became a loud James Lipton:
"SITTING HERE WITH THE GREAT REUBEN PATTERSON"
"Thanks"
"NOW REUBEN WE ALL KNOW YOU ARE THE KOBE STOPPER"
"Yeah"
"DON'T EVEN PLAY LIKE YOU ARE NOT - TELL ME SOMETHING...WHAT'S IT LIKE (whisper) stopping Kobe Bryant"
"its great, man"
"AND NOW YOU ARE ON THE MIL BUCKS"
"yeah"
"What that like"
"Well you know coach and Bogut and Villa, injuries, and everything else. Just going one game at a time"
"WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO THE GAME"
"You know, just execute and take it one game at a time"
"THAT'S GREAT MAN"

Quite frankly, the show simply never caught on, and staff members regularly were outside Penn Station trying to drum up even a studio audience.
Hahaha so true. My train was canceled unitl further notice, so I started walking around the city for something to eat, and here comes this 200 pound blonde chick telling me they were giving away pizza and cotton candy at "Quite Frankly". I told her I'd go and she looked pretty surprised. And then when we got there they told us we were only allowed to have 1 slice, wtf this is America, ain't no 1 slice filling up anyone.
I just also want to say that SAS radio show ain't half bad. He makes some decent points and he lets the fans put a decent amount of input in. Not as good as Mike and the Maddog, but he's better then the dude they put on afterwards.
When it first came out i wanted to see the Iverson one but never got around to it and then i nearly forgot about the show entirely. Most of the guests and occational content i caught from flipping through the channels seemed cull and did not interest me at all.
