No it's the best defensive era
We have complex defensive schemes and strategies that would look alien compared to the basic ass defense that was played in the 90s which was basically just cheap handchecking, zones weren't even properly allowed back then pathetic

Complex scheme's lol. Teams can't even gaurd a simple pick and rule anymore because players arnt aloud fighting through screens anymore. They either have to double the ball or the screener. Either way someones gonna be open for a shot. It's a joke.

I don't get picked last at the park anymore
Re: Is this the worst defensive era of NBA?
Honestly it's not that defense is bad, it's that shots are taken from farther away. With a miss-rate of 70%, this leads to more fast break drives which inherently have weaker defense to counter.
It's that.
That's it.

Re: Is this the worst defensive era of NBA?
Players of the past were way less skilled than todays players and thats why it was harder to score. Much easier to gameplan for someone whos only good at posting up or shooting middies as opposed to the players of today who shoot from anywhere and can actually dribble. You stanned a primitive era and bball has evolved immensely since then. Just accept it.

I mean Barnes is getting called for fouls with Bran stiff arming his face to decide the game so yeah this era and Bran's entire career is an absolute joke.

Not really? Maybe?
Like the guys know what to do. And they know to get back in transition defense, unlike the 80s at times.
It's just the rules, the offensive coaching, the value of the 3.
It's definitely easier for perimeter players to score. They got a lot more freedom. Harder for post players.
The shot selection too. More players are trying to take 3pt shots, which creates the spacing. And more fast break points.

The defense is so bad the games have largely become almost unwatchable.
Most here know it. But they troll.
