Default LeBron is the Dr. J of his era.

Okay these LeBron lower than Top 20 threads are ridiculous. Let's be rational here: LeBron pretty much dominated the league since 2006.

    That's a whole era.

He will go down as the Dr. J of the 2000's after the Shaq/Kobe/Duncan era. That will put him in the top 10 guaranteed.

    Top 5 most likely.

I have him ranked below Manute Bol.

Height is a major factor in my rankings.

Lebron didn't win a ring until 2012. That doesn't count as "dominating".

He had 4 years from 2012 to 2016 where he might have been considered "the best".

Before that Kobe (2-peat) and Duncan/Shaq.

In 2017 it was already Kawhi, just got hurt. In 2018 it was Durant. In 2019 it was Durant again.

So no, he didn't dominate. He had 4 years when Kobe was old and Durant and Kawhi were too young, where he could claim to be the best. That's it and honestly I'd say Curry was better in 2016, which leaves 2012-2015, which coincides with Miami Roid Team.

This isn't a totally horrible comp, but it isn't a great one either. LeBron is more talented than Dr. J, but Dr. J had such a huge positive impact on the sport than LeBron simply has not had. He was the face of the NBA/ABA merger years and the best player in the ABA before that (when the ABA was like the 2000-2018 Western Conference and the NBA was like the East).

Yeah Lebron legit sucked until 2012

    2007 - horrific Finals (22 on 36%)
    2008 - horrific 2nd Round (26 on 35%)
    2009 - lost as favored 1 seed
    2010 - lost as favored 1 seed
    2011 - goat choke

    2013 - 16 on 39% thru 3 games; 23 on 43% thru 6 games, so needed Ray to force gm 7
    2014 - record loss

He was the best from 2012-2016, but he had blunders in 2013 and 2014 - so he really only had "clean" rings and alpha dominance in 2012 and 2016 - those are his only years that compared to MJ's championship years

All he did was play on the most stacked team in his conference for all his finals appearances until KD decided to out collude him. Lebron will always be known for losing to KD instead of proving himself and for having 0 go ahead shots in the finals. After he retires and the hype dies down, you won’t see him on a top 10 list just like you don’t see Jerry West on a top 10 list.

Agreed! Players in his own era have as many titles as him on opposite teams who are stars such as Steph Curry and beat Lebron 3 times as well.
