Starting Five: One player from each era.
Rules:
You make a starting five, and one player has to be from one era each. An example.
PG: late 40s - 60s.
SG: 60s - '75
SF: '75 - '88
PF '88 - 2002
C: 2002 - 2014
It doesn't have to be exactly like that, you can switch the eras in the positions up. I'll start.
C: Wilt Chamberlain(60s - '75)
PF: Bob Pettit(40s - 60s)
SF: Larry Bird('75 - '88)
SG: Michael Jordan('88 - '02)
PG: Chris Paul('02 - '14)
What you guys got?

Re: Starting Five: One player from each era.
OP should have made it so that there can't be a single year of overlap between players.

Agreed.
That's what I've done here. None of these players' careers overlapped:
C - George Mikan (1946-1956)
PF - Bill Russell (1956-1969)
SF - LeBron James (2003-)
SG - Michael Jordan (1984-1993; 1995-1998; 2001-2003)
PG - Pete Maravich (1970-1980)
Mikan and Russell can take it in turns to play power forward. If that doesn't work, I'd replace Mikan with Joe Fulks (1946-1954) who fits in nicely at small forward, LeBron can switch to power forward, and Russell resumes center duties.

Re: Starting Five: One player from each era.
Gonna try to stay away from some of the really obvious picks.
PG: Oscar (60s - '75)
SG: West (late 40s - 60s)
SF: Dr. J ('71 - '88)
PF: KG (2002 - 2014)
C: Hakeem ('88 - 2002)
Even less obvious picks, not even close to the best team but a team I'd want to watch all day..obviously fully healthy, with T-Mac, Sabonis, and Hill in there..
(1970s) Pete Maravich
(2000s) Tracy McGrady
(1990s) Grant Hill
(2010s) Kevin Durant
(1980s) Arvydas Sabonis

So you've gone for Oscar Robertson and Jerry West? Two players who played in exactly the same years (1960-74).
You really think Jerry West played in the 1940s? He didn't even play in the 1950s

Re: Starting Five: One player from each era.
C: Kareem 70's
PF: Wilt 60's
SF: Lebron 00's
SG: MJ 90's
PG: Magic 80's
Moving Wilt to the PF (or Russell) and nobody is beating that team, but Wilt or Russell at PF is kind of cheating.
So:
C: Kareem 70's
PF: Duncan 00's
SF: Baylor 60's
SG: MJ 90's
PG: Magic 80's

No, I actually didn't. They both fall under the years given. Wasn't my decision to have an entire decade mentioned within 2 eras.
