You would think with the Colorado drama around Kobe in the Finals that these old timers would step up but they did not - like they didn't all throughout that season. Kobe had a bad shooting series for a variety of factors including but not limited to: the opponents defense/off-court drama/shaq drama/season drama. Kobe nonetheless did his job on the defensive end shutting down Hamilton - a weapon for Detroit coming into that series.

You might want to re-watch that series, since everyone other than Shaq & Kobe played like absolute garbage. Glove averaged like 4 & 4 on 30% shooting, Malone was injured and a non-factor.
