I don't care what he says - with Gilbert, it's all about Gilbert, all the time. He's probably the worst attention whore in the whole league and totally incapable of playing within a non-ego team structure like the one the Wizards have worked hard to develop in his absence.

You really think EJ will want to risk throwing his team into disarray by inserting a known ballhog chucker into the lineup? "Just an assist man" my ass. Everyone knows Arenas would start monopolizing the shots in his usual way very quickly. That's just who he is.

Gil takes a lot of shots, but him being on the court takes pressure off the whole team. Right now for as good as Jamison has been they really don't have a go-to guy, Gil will provide that. With a healthy Gil and Caron this is a 50-55 win ballclub.

not really anymore.
Arenas has more power than Eddie Jordan, Grunfeld has been looking for a reason to can him since he got here.

People are really putting this much thought into Gilbert's words? Ugh. It's painfully obvious why he actually said what he did.

That's pretty much common knowledge in DC. Jordan was brought in before Grunfeld and Grunfeld resents it a little that he wasn't able to bring in his own guy. Not too mention they've been butting heads about personel decisions after the playoffs in 04-05.

By the way, you're pulling things out of the air about Jordan not wanting Arenas to play. Right now they need someone out there when the offense stalls (which happens often) and he's clearly getting more and more frustrated on how things are working on that end of the floor. The reason they're tentative of putting Arenas back on the floor is because they don't want something to happen that happened at the beginning of the season where it looked like he was going to be healthy and then had to hang things up after 8 games.

Oftentimes yes it will. I'm not sure where he is in his recovery but I can tell you that depending on the injury 7 days can make a huge difference.

I'm really tired of hearing about, and from, drama-queen Arenas. He used to be entertaining, but is now deep in the "really annoying" category.
