No, the perfect team around Jordan would be the '96 Bulls with '92 MJ instead of '96 MJ.

Anyway, this comparison won't work because we all have images in our head of the teams that were actually around these guys. So people will assume that the "perfect" team for Shaq features a guy like Kobe, Jordan with Pippen etc. In reality, I don't think either team was perfectly suited for the stars. Given perfectly constructed teams, I'd take Jordan about 8 times out of 10. Simply a better player and more able to take control of a series.

If it was the perfect team around them then it would be equal. Neither would win.

jordan fans are just trying to avoid a 1 on 1 discussion cause shaq would probably **** up MJ

1 on 1 is relative to position.

like kobe is pound for pound the best 1 on 1 player ever. but he'd probably lose to kareem, wilt or shaq cause 1 on 1 is mostly post ups

    shaq would eat jordan alive

Shaq lost several series with pretty talented teams around him, including getting his ass handed to him by Jordan once he was back in basketball shape (4-0 sweep) even though Jordan was a bit past his peak at that point.

Shaq should be GOAT on paper ... but for whatever reason it didn't translate as well to actual results. 3 titles as the no.1 is pretty good, but I can't help but feel like he underachieved a bit for a 20 year career where he had pretty good talent around basically from his 2nd season onwards.

Building a team to win championships I want someone who can dominate in the 4th quarter and clutch situations, and Shaq really was weak in that regard, he needed someone else (Kobe or Penny or Wade) to carry the water in those situations.

With Jordan you still get great play from quarters 1-3, but you then have the best closer/clutch performer in NBA history for the 4th quarter.
