I usually hit open layups
Can players boycott their Contract?
Let's say Tristan Thompson.
Signed a 5 year $82 mill deal last year. TV contracts are bringing in a load of revenue. Average players like Batum, Parsons are looking at max deals.
Would TT be able to say "*** it, restructure the deal or else i'm not playing. "
TT can effectively refuse to practice, play in games, travel with the team right?

Seriously? The Cavs could **** up his career in an instant by releasing a bunch of bad rumours about him to the press.
He'll become Andre Bynum 2.0 before you know it.

Re: Can players boycott their Contract?
He's barely worth that contract if he even is worth it, what would he complain for?
Avery Bradley or Middleton would be better examples, Tristan Thompson can shut the f*ck up and play

Curry making 11M and you think TT should be refusing to play?
No, contracts cannot be restructured until 3 years later and even then it NEVER happens. But they ARE guaranteed unlike the NFL.

Re: Can players boycott their Contract?
no they cant. both sides took risk and now both sides have to deal with the consequences.

Re: Can players boycott their Contract?
Doesn't work like the NFL. The contracts are guaranteed by both sides. If he tries some hold out crap, he's in breach of that contract.
Same way the team can't say "Dude, we're cutting your pay" if he sucks.

Re: Can players boycott their Contract?
if players want to make deals non guaranteed, im sure owners would love that. but its probably the biggest benefit they have. no player should complain about it.

Of course he can.
But then he gets paid 0 dollars instead of 82,000,000.
So it's kind of a stupid move.
