I agree that it's stupid but I can also understand them not anticipating this kind of turn-a-round for the franchise. I'm sure if they could get out of this contract they would. And the money wasn't shitty back then. The Nets re-worked their TV deal in 2011 and are being paid $20 million a year until 2032. Back then $20 million was a lot for them but now I bet that their pretty upset because of their global success. Just wish that the Nets had what the Knicks had. TV coverage for any and every game. I remember the NJ Nets. When baseball started, the Nets were not on Yes and instead moved to channel nine and sometimes, not televised at all.

It's baffling they took the cash to me instead of trying to get out. You'd think they'd want a "Nets Network" instead of being on YES, which 90% of it doesn't even acknowledge anything other than the Yankees exist.
