Man, when you think about it that team should be a contender right now if they had a healthy Brandon Roy, Greg Oden and LaMarcus Aldridge. Oden turns out to be a bust, Roy's career is cut short due to bad knees.

But the front office doesn't give up. They put together a damn good team with Aldridge, Batum, Lillard, Matthews, Lopez and they go out at the deadline and trade for Afflalo. And they look like legit contenders until Matthews is injured. They're still good but they're not legit contenders without Matthews.
