    Default Marcus Smart:

    https://streamable.com/m1fyv

Man why do Boston players/coaches/fans keep making up lies and being nice to Kyrie for no reason? Why the hell is Smart out here spewing nonsense like Kyrie elevated him as a teammate and helped him slow the game down? Don't they see the PROOF shown by the highly reputable and wise Bran stans?

Obviously forum nerds and ESPN/BleacherReport know more than those who deal with this on a day to day basis both personally and professionally

It's just funny all of these narratives that are spun up and then those actually dealing with the situations in real life are like ...nah.

Smart's gonna come out and say what he felt in a genuine way. He said the team was dysfunctional last year also. He's not picking sides.

Also, Boston fans aren't being nice about Kyrie. They hate the dude.

I didnt really care for marcus before kyrie joined but ive gained respect for him. Real dude. I believe the discontent/locker room issues came from young guys rozier and jaylen brown. They thought they should have had bigger roles and sulked a lot during the season. Kyrie hinted at it. He said in an interview that the biggest thing on the Celtics is guys learning that even if they're not the ones scoring and shooting that it's still the teams points . that it's all theirs and they should take happiness in it. This points to guys being salty when they weren't scoring and touching the ball.

Yeah...I don't hate him myself but most Boston sports fans don't like Irving at all. He's going to get booed when the Nets come to town and there will be no video tribute.

    Boston underachieved with Kyrie there...

...and then he left after 2 years to go play in Brooklyn with Durant and an up-and-coming team.

Not sure what point OP is trying to make.

As there shouldn't be. He gave us nothing except a shitty attitude and cancer.

Kyrie did what Kobe sent him there to do.

There is nothing more to this story.

Nobody says what they really feel on television so this quote means nothing. Kyrie Irving is the main reason why the locker room was dysfunctional. Every time the Celtics lost a game Kyrie goes to the media and blames all his teammates and coach. A true locker room cancer

Marcus Morris had similar good things to say about Kyrie. When Boston appeared to be turning it around after the break, he credited Kyrie as the leader of the team for making it happen

I think it’s pretty clear he wasn’t the only cause of their dysfunction. The vets all seemed to love and respect him. Obviously Rozier played a big role in the drama due to believing he was sacrificing his “talent”. Stevens also didn’t manage egos or roles very well

Boston being the cutthroat racist organization that it is why they are where they are.

Kyrie was always just the scapegoat.

the biggest flaw in coach K's system is the lack of iso plays. you can also translate as when you pass the ball through a certain point, it doesn't find players in positions where when you can dismiss the glass as a whole and only account for the distance to the rim.

which follows with the defense positioning, which the myth is that great defenses are the pro-active approach, an all or nothing stamina battle, in a reactive approach, the bench is in play, and its the agenda of bigs guarding smalls.

what does jaylen brown think? lol
it's obvious that most blame was their leader kyrie. ball hogger and only plays for himself. they looked better with him off the floor. the ball moved. use the eye test.

Let's accept that Kyrie made some awful leadership choices by airing what he did to the press instead of keeping it behind closed doors.

Now, just because he did things the wrong, politically incorrect way, does that make what he was saying/implying about the young guys untrue? He's a wacko, but he's not just gonna get up there and make shit up about his co-workers.

Same thing with Jimmy Butler. Wrong to call out teammates publicly, but you gotta admit he was just being brutally honest about Wiggins and Towns and their lack of motivation.

It's like people are just ignoring all the stuff Kyrie is saying because he's more vocal about the mistakes others are making. They don't even stop to realize 'oh, he's likely telling the plain truth.' People just gotta try and shield anyone from any flak these days in order to avoid what could be a healthy ego confrontation.
