Who is currently challenging and or threatening Wiggins for ROY award?

The award he'll likely win is still legitimate but won't hold as much weight due to his main competitors (Parker, Embiid, and perhaps Randle) being injured. For example, Jabari Parker would be a legitimate contender after averaging 12.3 points and 5.5 rebounds, with a 14.6 PER, 52.7 TS%, and an impressive defensive rating of 103 before a torn ACL. Still, besides Parker, there doesn't seem to be anyone else (that has played) that can pose a legitimate threat to Wiggins receiving the award.

But he's not... You're going to penalize someone playing well just because his competition (not even in the sense of during the game vs him) isn't healthy?

I doubt Wiggins was going on ESPN looking at box scores, seeing Parker drop 20, and thinking he needed to go for 21 next game.

    Um...

When you look in the history books it's just going to say ROTY: Andre Wiggins.

It's not gonna say "ROTY: Andrew Wiggins *because his rookie class was weak and his competitors were hurt."

So as far as reality is concerned, if he wins ROY it will hold the same weight and be the exact same as all of those before him.

Because Carmelo just joined the team...they didn't add Andre Miller, Voshon Leonard and have Marcus Camby play 72 games (as opposed to 29 the previous year) or anything. Pathetic Kobe stans are pathetic.

Keep sucking that Melo dick doe.

No one will care in a few years. No one mentions that Griffin was injured when Evans won the award.

Miller made his playoff debut when he joined Melo

    Voshon Leonard and Camby? Okay..

Bran had Big Z (who was an all star in 03) and Carlos Boozer and that combo> Camby and Leonard..

Camby averaged 8/10/3.. Big Z put up 15/8/3 and played more games

Some people can't help up but bring LeBron. And on an award he won 11 years ago too lol. Let's try to keep this on topic at the least though.

Awards don't have asterisks or legitmacy controversy because of injuries. Injuries happen every single year. The player pool in the league is different every year. And actually if every rookie was still in, it's likely Wiggins would have the best stats right after his recent play. He was pretty much neck and neck with Parker statistically (save for rebounds and fg%) before he went down, and Wiggins has gone up 4 ppg since then. Parker was inevitably going to improve and bring his stats up as well, but I don't think he was going to go on a streak of this magnitude. Other players like Randle and Gordon to be honest I never really saw winning ROY.

The last guy people can argue is Embiid, and none of us really know what could've happened there, but even if he put up 20/10 (which wasn't going to happen right away) that's really only one guy that would've for sure beat Wiggins. Hardly a reason to call the entire award illegitimate.

Right...they made the playoffs on Carmelos 21 points on 18 shots and shitty defense. It wasn't like Andre Miller led the team in winshares...oh wait. That team doesn't sniff the playoffs without Miller. Stick to kobe, clown.

oh man win shares, can't argue against that.. that stat is so concrete.

no wonder Melo spent the rest of his career missing the playoffs or not advancing through the first round while Miller has only missed the playoffs once in his career

What am I going to say? Use the eye test? (for 12 years ago) You are a kobe stan anyway...your eyes are ****ed. What could you possibly see? The fact of the matter is if you think Melo carried the Nuggets to the playoffs his rookie season you are just a moron and not worth anymore of my time. If this was all just to bring Lebron down...fair enough, but you failed miserably. Move on.
