Well in that case then here are tons of 'potential' superstars in the nba.

You know, there is something to be said about DeMar. He's only 19 and I am not sure if he would have entered the draft if it weren't for the fact that he desperately needed money to take care of his mom. He hasn't reached his full potential even at college level. If he stayed another year at college to improve his game and his stats, he might have been picked top 5 in the 2010 Draft. This is all speculations, but I am just saying, Raptors might have gotten him as a bargain.
Superstar - 20%
Star - 25%
Decent Player - 55%
For sure he will be a decent player. Whether a superstar or a star, it depends on his ability to stay healthy, adapt to the NBA level, and excel.

Re: Raps Get DeMar DeRozan @ #9
I'm glad he seems to be excited to play in Toronto. Not exactly the type of attitude players in the past have had. I watched a lot of him in the Pac-10 this past year and I really like what I saw. He's very athletic and he rebounds well for a guard. One thing I'd like to see him improve on a bit is his shooting, but all in time. Overall, a solid pick and, IMO, a potentially high reward player.

does this mean Anthony Parker is gone?

Yea, it can't be overstated that he's actually excited to be there. Other things I like from his scouting reports: coachability, work ethic, defensive commitment, intensity, instincts etc.
If you believe in his gigantic upside, you couldn't ask for a lot more in terms of the qualities he has right now.

I keep hearing that knock about his shooting, but watching clips of him practicing shooting while running around the Air Canada Centre, he was hitting pretty much everything from all distances including the three point line. Gotta say i was pleasantly surprised. I guess it's a whole lot easier when there's no hand in your face. Certainly though, the potential is there.

I think that's a good quality as well, however Vince, T-mac, etc.. were all excited to play for Toronto as well. They said all the same stuff and gave it their all in the early days. So I kind of take a players optimism and enthusiasm with a grain of salt. I'm glad that he's not badmouthing the team or the city but this doesn't mean a lot for us long term.

The thing I like about him is all he talks about is that hes got to get better offensively and the defense is gonna be good.
Him and Griffin talk in the same way with how they want to get better.

Yeah, straight up would be a solid move.
He said at the press conference hes not though.
I think we got a steal at 9. Yeah its top ten but common 9, considering one team had back to back picks and selected two players that play the same position, he was one of three? wing players talked about in the top 10.
I consider this pick a part of the core now.

Re: Raps Get DeMar DeRozan @ #9
As if Rubio skipped his press conference with Minnesota. He hasn't played a game yet but I already hate this kid's attitude. It's going to really limit the way he develops. Thank god we drafted a player with a bit of class who showed up to the press conference in Toronto the day after the draft and was happy to answer all the questions the media had. Rubio just seems ungrateful and snobby..
