The idea that using statistics in your arguments means you didn't watch the games is just straight retarded.
I watched all the 2010 LA Playoff Games except maybe one or two from the OKC series and I combine that experience with statistics to judge who was most valuable to the team (LA).
The people who usually beg and plead to avoid the statistics are the ones who have no argument to back up their position/opinions and hope if people ignore the statistics they can just bullshit and claim they are correct.
"Kobe is best because he's Kobe derppp"
First of all, what are you talking about? I didn't say anything about the series. I just talked about Kobe's game 7 performance. Second, I didn't say anything about looking at statistics only, I just said if you are going to use stats then use it right don't go around posting PER (which is a formula that is full of arbitrary constants and makes little mathematical sense. And before you say anything about that, I have emailed Hollinger a bunch of times about his use of statistics and he has never replied.) Third I am pretty sure you don't play basketball that much because of this logic, "Most of those rebounds were easy defensive rebounds that were never in danger of becoming turnovers."

Kobe Bryant was the 2010 Finals MVP. Game 7 was but one game, or 0.14285714285714285714285714285714 of the series. Anyone who keeps throwing out "But 6/24...!" as their main argument is ignorant.

How does this test for significance account for game 7? Well Kobe's rebound total has p value of less than .05. Meaning, getting 15 rebounds in that particular game is not something that just occurred by random chance. He made a serious significant effort and change in game style. And knowing that the team who got more rebounds won every game of the series, which was heavily discussed, and the out come of this very gritty game, that is impressive.
Excellent post that will more than likely be ignored by the trolls and Kobe haters on this board.

Shows you the guy didn't even watch the series.
Only reason why I remembered it because I remember Phil saying that Artest was the MVP of game 7/the only reason they won that game tonight.

Yeah, it's the same dude. He has another profile on here bwink23(sounds a lot like B-rad from "Malibu's Most Wanted", doesn't it?!). The moron thinks he can fool people with TWO DIFFERENT PROFILES saying the exact same.
