Maybe because he still has a pedestrian post/offensive game (despite getting 1-on-1 teaching from the two greatest post players in the history of the game in Hakeem and McHale). And being mostly reliant on his freak athleticism for all of his career (which is now waning).

Sure, he's not as good as he could be. But surely he's still a better option that Ariza and Thornton who are shooting in the low 40s....

Nobody called them the next Shaq and Kobe because Dwight was nowhere near the player Shaq was.

The only people that are comparing the two duos are Laker fans mad Dwight left them and people who can't name any other All-Star SG/C combination other than Kobe and Shaq.

I still remember years ago when Dwight as overrated as f, and I argued with "respected" posters on RealGM that they were stupid to even compare Dwight with Bill Russell OR Wilt Chamberlain, and that he would never win a championship or help his team. Oh how right I was, **** you, tsherkin.
