They said the same thing about Obama (minus the billionaire thing), but he only seemed to relate to Muslims and black teenage males.

He breathes, he eats, he lives in a building (like you ZOMG), he likes to laugh, he probably will reciprocate your smile, he probably likes to sleep, he likes to think/have interesting conversations, he probably is a people person and will focus on you, he probably travels just like you, he likes good perfumes and clothes, he likes scenery and beauty just like you, he had parents, he probably watched some film, read some books etc.
Has near multi-millionaire macmac ever come off as cold, standoffish, snobby, or unapproachable? Has Rufus? Not in the slightest.
You may be of two socioeconomic classes but you are still human beings.
There's PLENTY of room to start. You just need to intelligently direct your attention. I bet you, he's fascinated in poor people just like we are of his life and native cultures are of civilized and vice versa.
On second thought, it's tough to relate to someone who dislikes the new Star Wars. Perhaps you are right.

I remember a while back people made a big deal that Tony Blair was out of touch because he didn't know how much a loaf of bread costs. I couldn't tell you how much a loaf of bread costs myself, I just put it in the shopping basket. And even if he has other people do his shopping for him what does that have to do with knowing how to run a country?

Ridiculous.
Politicians by the nature of their job description and process of attaining that job have to interact with common folk. Many of them got their starts in small local districts, working to help the common man. Even our president got his start as a community organizer. Bernie marched with Dr. King.
Trump on the other hand... this campaign season is probably the first time he's ever directly interacted with people who weren't investors/businessmen/etc trying to get their hands on Fred Trump's money.
