D'Angelo is playing with a bunch of dominant ball guards under an awful Byron Scott offence led team and yet Mudiay is still doing arguably just as bad; the PG who has free reigns, and is supposed to be NBA ready more so than D'Angelo. Next.

How is Mudiay doing just as bad? He's quite clearly played better than Russell. Game 1 against Houston outside of the turnovers he was pretty incredible. So that's 1/3 of his games.

Nuggets are just as much of a trainwreck as the Lakers so far. Mudiay hasn't had the free reign the past two games. He played the same amount of minutes as DR the last game, 27. Nelson/Gallo etc. had the ball in there hands lots.

    Rounded up it looks like..

    9/3/2 on 37/27/50 with .3 BPG .3 SPG in 25 minutes. 2 tpg
    13/5/4 on 33/38/50 with .7 BPG 1 SPG in 30 minutes. 6 tpg

With Russell not coming close to doing anything like what Mudiay did vs Houston. Give it time. It's been 3 games maybe Russell does outperform Mudiay, he was drafted higher and is expected too right? Give it time to happen.

Just from the eye test I think Mudiay is ready to go. He had some unforced turnovers against Houston that was just nerves and carelessness. His shot is miles ahead of what people expected it to be.

In fact, here's you already proclaiming him the best passer in the NBA after a preseason game!

Not one scout or myself have stated that he's NBA ready. He's a project, always has been. Mudiay is the guy everyone said would be a contender for ROY because hes the NBA ready PG. Russel is for the star potential, Mudiay is for now.... which hes not cause hes trash.

But seriously, he actually surprised me in this regard. Yes, he wasn't known as any kind of defender prior to SL but his length and lateral quickness had shown to bother a lot of players. Do you guys think D'Angelo can become a decent defender in the NBA? He may not be the most athletic, but he has the size and length to bother a lot of players.

Mudiay was the ROY pick because he looked great in preseason/SL. 6'5 and huge for a PG and Denver traded Lawson thus giving Mudiay the keys. He hasn't even played 30 minutes the past two games. He's not running the offense the entire time he's out there and playing some 2 guard. We'll see going forward because it's only been 3 games but seems like Malone is gunna ease Mudiay into things far more than some expected.

I'd say Mudiay has more potential, Russell is the more polished player. Russell doesn't have Mudiay's physical gifts. The gap in there shooting while still obviously heavily in favor of Russell isn't as big as it once was. Mudiay doesn't look like he'll be like Rondo which some were projecting shooting wise.

Laker fans feeling the heat of taking Russell #2 I guess. Feels good this comparison is evening happening considering we took Mudiay 7th overall
