4) Magic gave potential 20/10 Zubac away to the Clippers for Muscala because they needed shooters

5) After actively campaigning for Kawhi Leonard and Paul George for two seasons, the Lakers lose out on both on them to the Clippers.

A lot of this would be irrelevant if Lakers never signed Lebron. Kawhi would prefer to play on the Lakers but the Lakers disrespected him big time:

1. They thought he wasn't worth trading for. They assumed he would just sign with them after his contract was up. Big mistake. Even worse, they offered all their assets for Davis. What was the Lakers offer for Kawhi? Ball, Deng, and a late 1st. Kawhi took this as an insult.

2. They signed the one player in the league Kawhi hates the most in LBJ and they gave him the keys to the kingdom. Lebron's cronies run everything now. Lebron's an outsider, a mercenary that's only in LA to make movies. He doesn't give a shit about the city while Kawhi calls it home. Bran basically stole his hometown.

Lakers were incredibly naive if they thought Kawhi would be happy playing on the same team as LBJ...especially when it was LBJ himself that instructed the Lakers to not offer up their youth in a trade for Kawhi. A few months later, and Lebron tells the Lakers to ship everyone out for his Klutch buddy Anthony Davis. Of course, Kawhi was going to do everything in his power to screw the Lakers. He had them wait for days, he had them cancel and reschedule meetings just so he could meet Paul George and West in secret. it was incredibly deliberate. This wasn't treachery as much it was getting back at the Lakers for disrespecting him(West was also more than happy to screw Jenny over after she said he was irreleveant and replaced him with Kobe's agent)
