Default Kobe's Perfect Conference Finals Record: who can challenge it?

    7/7 as a starter.

    Who can break it?

    I'm waiting.

Karl Malone in 1998 I'd say.

Only if you count 20mpg off the bench Kobe, personally don't mind if you do. I doubt '98 Jazz would've fared much better than any of the seven WCFinalist teams Kobe had eliminated.

Love Kobe, but you think the 62 win '98 repeat NBA Finals that only lost to Mike Jazz team wouldn't have fared much better than the '09 Nuggets or the '04 T'Wolves (with a Laker team that went on to lose 4-1 in the Finals).............GTFO.

20mpg Kobe was a solid 6th man and that team was the most talented twam the Lakers had throughout his whole career. They weren't just well coached, had character issues and Kobe was a tad to young. I'd say it counts. It's not like Kobe wasn't an integral part to that team. And yes the Jazz in '98 were better than most team the Lakers faced later on.

Kobe eliminated nothing. The Lakers did.

Jordan would've been 7/7 too, in both the conference finals AND the Finals, but Pippen had the epic choke in Game 7 of 1990 ECF - he scored 2 points on 1-10, which cost the Bulls their first trip to the Finals.. He admitted on the Bad Boys documentary that "the pressure" caused the poor performance:

"It was the pressure.. As the pressure grew, the pounding grew.. I wasn't able to answer the bell."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqC74bv46Z8&t=1h22m15s

This choke also cost the Bulls a 4-peat, since the Bulls would've easily beaten the Blazers in the Finals - the Pistons only needed 5 easy games to beat Blazers, but 7 tough games and Pippen's choke to beat Bulls.. The gap in ORtg for Pistons/Blazers was huge, but it was razor thin for Pistons/Bulls.

Aaaaaand peak Kobe also failed to make the playoffs with a similar team that Wade lead to the playoffs (Butler, Odom, etc). And he lost in the first round a few times. And he got swept by Dallas in the second round in 2011.

It sure is cute/slightly interesting that he was 7/7 in Conference Finals though. If that can help you sleep at night go for it.

At least the hate inside of him has been exposed.

He tried to act objective before.
