using a bmw z4 engine wtf Toyota. They were obviously trying to make this car more affordable but even at 50k this car is trash. Why couldn't they have developed their own engine? This car will not be mod friendly at all.

Toyota is famous for using the same parts for DECADES. Throw an old 2jz engine in there and they will sell like hot cakes.

but for 50k+? its only 340hp. You can get a base mustang gt for damn near 30k and have 460hp. 120hp more for 20k less

I believe the entire powertrain and platform is essentially the same as the z4.

Engine , transmission, chassis, suspension, interior is ALL BMW. Hell even the windshield and windows have BMW codes. This shit is just a rebadged Z4.

Toyota claims they did their own tuning for the Supra but the Z4 is over 380hp. So wtf did Toyota do? Detune it?

How did Toyota execs really think making this car would be a good idea? Its ugly, its way too small because it needed to use the Z4 frame, it only comes in automatic, and the price point is way off. 55k usd??? Not to mention after 25 years they only managed to make the Supra 15hp faster. MKIV Supras are jumping up in price now.
