At the end of the time, coming to LAL, brings you CRAZY exposure. Nick Young is a model for Forever 21. Russell was just in a gatorade commercial and Randle was in a big commercial just recently as well. I can guarantee you no one would care about these guys except some localass Car dealership if they were playing for Bucks or whatever.
LA is LA baby. Now that Kobe's out, the world is theirs. Durant we waiting bruh
Maybe the "exposure" is good for up and coming stars, but for guys like Durant? He's one of the best players in the world, he has enough exposure. I'm pretty sure guys like Westbrook and Durant are more concerned with winning than anything else.
Maybe the big market could entice someone like DeRozan or Horford, but are these really the pieces you want to throw max money at?

we need to stop acting like a Russell/Randle/Clarkson core is actually scary
if you aren't the wolves or the bucks the core is just so unknown you can't really say whose future is better

wolves: KAT, wiggins, lavine, rubio - missed playoff
bucks: monroe, jabari parker, giannis, missed playoff
lakers: deangelo, JC, randle + potential ben simmons/ingram.
i do think lakers' future is atleast as bright as wolves.
bucks can stay losing.

Houston - Harden and a bunch of journeymen = low seed every year, not good enough to contend for titles, not bad enough for a great draft pick
Lakers - three promising young players, 60 mil in cap space + top 3 pick
which team is in a better situation moving forward? Houston would have to blow it up but problem is that Harden is in his prime and won't stick around for the rebuilding process.
Even if they want to blow it up right now, Howard has a player option for 23 million for next year, he's going to be taking that money considering how bad he looked this year, good luck trading him and getting anything back if any team is stupid enough to go for him .
It's pretty obvious that Lakers are currently in a better situation. No dead weight, young core, cap space. Rockets were medicore for over a decade, got lucky with a big FA signing and ended up making one bad signing after another so they would be forced to blow it up again...

that's if they even hold onto their draft pick.
as it stands, the wolves core is by far #1 and the bucks core clearly #2

we dont know if the lakers will get to keep their pick
as it stands, harden is a better player than anyone on the lakers even projects to be. randle clarkson and russel aren't 'special' players. i don't really like randle since he doesn't fit into today's NBA anyways, so i wouldn't even call him a part of a young core

Don't get ahead of yourselves, your only setting yourself up for disappointment when we don't sign a star, or overpay for someone

Re: Lakers Already Have a Better Future than Rockets LOL
Russell has the potential to be an allstar
Randle averaged a double double in his rookie season
Larry Nance is a solid role player
Clarkson could be traded or become a 6th man of the year type of player if he gets his defense better.
Potential Ingram / Simmons?
60 mill in cap means lots of things. Lakers could package the pick or some players to entice a player to come here.
We ain't even mad. There is absolutely no way anyone would pick Rockets situation at this point. Dwight is probably leaving, the rest of their team are straight skeleton ass. Beasley is their second best player at this point. Harden plays ZERO defense. They wont make the playoffs at this point... . THEIR CHAMPIONSHIP WINDOW
