Default REFS at post game interviews

why don't they allow refs to be interviewed in the playoffs?

I for one would like to see the lead ref sit down and explain one of the many bullshit calls that happen

Good question. I would assume because they don't want to draw attention to them.

I would love to hear them explain some of those bs calls.

Could you imagine Joey Crawford getting pissed at media questions?

Hell no. Refs should be as invisible as possible. That would pave the way for more idiots like Javie and Crawford thinking they're more important than they really are.

They deal with enough BS from the whiny bitches on the floor, they don't need to be put in front of the media.

He's one guy I could see advocating for this. He appears to relish the spotlight.

Its not a good idea. Referees in theory should be like supreme court justices that are not influenced by politics, just interpreting rules that have been created by the league.

If refs are forced to answer post game questions how soon before a ref decides to make the easy call rather than the right call because he doesn't want to sit and face public backlash even when he knows he made the right move? Some guys just won't be able to deal with getting grilled with questions from 100 members of media and a greater spotlight on themselves even if they know they are making the correct call.

There needs to be a greater variety of refs that run playoff games because some of the long timers, i.e., Crawford want to be celebrities as much as the athletes.

Joey Crawford would be more famous than Lebron and Kobe combined within a year
