Default The LeBron effect on the next generation

After MJ we saw the rise of perimeter oriented guards/forwards who wanted to play like Mike. It feels like we're starting see something similar with LeBron, with NBA players like Simmons and Ball playing the point forward position with a pass-first mentality.

Do you think that over the next few years, we will see even more prospects who approach the game the same way as LeBron does, because of LeBron?

I realize this thread is ripe for LeBron jokes, but serious responses are welcome.

right now, if you go to your local gym, youre bound to see a bunch of high school kids with legit strokes all the way out to nba range. i think thats going to be the focus of most kids moving foward (steph)

but i do also see most of these kids evolving into a pass friendly offensive system, but court vision like lebron/ball/simmons is harder to teach/learn that shooting (imo)

Let me know when kids playing ball imitate taking a last second shot and yell, "LeBron!"

Definitely possible.

That happens with superstars who transcend the game and become Icons.

MJ
AI
LeBron

Before them it was Magic, Dr. J, etc

All generational players (with the exception of big men) have an influence on average people. Everyone tried fadeaways like Kobe. Everyone tried AI's crossover and style. Kids now do nothing but jack up pull-up 3s at the gym trying to be Steph. And now players are taking more of a "get your teammates going first" approach like LeBron.

elite passing like Bran, Simmons, and Ball is more innate IMO.

imitate. imitative is an adjective not a verb.

Go easy on him, he's been getting abused too often lately.

Nice to see you're using my phone autocorrecting me as a deflection.
Atleast you're aware my statement about Kobe was correct.

I still see players at the court imitating kyrie and Steph.

You can't emulate LeBron style unless you are a top level athlete with great instincts.

I've seen slow unatgletic ball players trying to shoot quicker jump shots

Wasn't that the domino effect of Magic, Pippen, and then Lebron?
