Was going to make this exact point.
Pippen's all around game made him a legit 1st option type of player, he just happened to be paired up with MJ. Without MJ, Pippen still won 50+ and a playoff series.
Kobe is more of a true sidekick, in that he cannot lead a team anywhere as "the guy" but was a secondary contributor on a number of success teams.
Kobe > Pippen as a sidekick
Pippen > Kobe overall

Kobe was not a bad sidekick tbf. He got 3 rings as a sidekick.
although, agreed on the last point. Pippen is better than Kobe overall

What about Magic Johnson? He has 5 NBA titles as a sidekick. Kobe was only a sidekick with the first 3 you idiots.

But yeah, Kobe Bryant is the GOAT 2nd option, 3-peat and lack of FMVP proved that.
How insecure are you that Kyrie has ALWAYS been the man while LeBRONZE is his sidekick?

Magic has 3 season MVPs and 3 Finals MVPs. Kobe has 1 and 2 respectively. Magic accomplished a lot of that with Kareem as a teammate. The most significant individual award Bean won while interning for Shaq was a dunk contest his rookie season

but I forgot.. that double standard only applies to Kobe
Magic won Finals MVP his rookie season with one of the greatest performances in Sports History when Kareem went down and was out. Kareem was a shell of himself when Magic was leading them to championships/finals in the late 80s. And he won MVP and led the team to the finals after Kareem left. Then his career was cut short for obvious reasons.
Magic was the best player on the Lakers when Kareem was on the squad and when he wasn't... Bean was only the man when Shaq promoted him from intern.

Kobe was the Spurs killer though. He owned them.

When did I say he would?
What point are you trying to make exactly? And for the record, Magic did in fact win Finals MVP his rookie season playing alongside a Kareem coming off an MVP regular season. Saved the Lakers when Cap went down and it looked like they were finished.
But Bean winning the dunk contest is just as impressive.

He obviously wasn't peak Shaq, but Kareem was still an MVP candidate and First team All-NBA caliber player at 37-38 years old

While Magic did have that legendary performance to win Game 6, Kareem really should have won Finals MVP that year

But he didn't win because he went out with an injury and a rookie played all 5 positions (starting at center) and closed out the series when everyone had counted them out after they lost the regular season MVP.
