The other high scoring rookie who led the league in FG% was Walt Bellamy. It's interesting how some of these guys had their best or close to best statistical season their rookie year.
Like Ron Harper. Granted, he was successful role player for the Bulls second 3-peat, but I remember dude looked like a budding star his first few seasons in the league. Yeah well, 1949/50 season. I don't know when the first black NBA player was. I was just amazed at this guy's efficiency in that era, and that he only played two seasons. It's like comparing Shaq's FG% to AI's. And dude wasn't a center either. But I'm not claiming anything more than that. Might have had a great 50s career if he hadn't been point shaving, though. Ηe also led the league in FG% in his 2nd season, as well, which nobody did (first 2 seasons). Too bad there's hardly any footage of him around.
