Default How would you rate these players?

    (all perimeter players)

    Player A: 25PPG on 50% on a WINNING TEAM
    Player B: 25PPG on 44% on a WINNING TEAM
    Player C: 25PPG on 50% on a LOSING TEAM
    Player D: 25PPG on 44% on a LOSING TEAM

For the purpose of this example lets assume everything else is the same. We're only interested in scoring ability.

Compare them, rank them, compare them to real examples etc etc

pointless exercise. Winning is better than losing and higher %'s are better than lower. ****ing duh

except basketball is a team sport and all of those things are USELESS without context.

My primary problem with these kinds of topics. The numbers with no idea how they are achieved questions....

    31 on 56% 55 win team.
    24 on 50% 41 win team

    28 on 53% 55 win team
    22 on 50% 42 win team

The better numbers....Karl Malone...worse...Hakeem. Both years...better scoring skillset...Hakeem. Hakeem didnt learn to drop 27 a game the year he started doing it. Rudy T came in and replaced Don Chaney. The offense was built to suit Hakeem and they asked him to do more.

His scoring ability didnt rise that much....his scoring numbers did...due to circumstances, teammates, and coaching.

The kind of things that you just cant account for with the numbers.

Player A might be dropping 25 and winning while D drops 25 and loses shooting much worse....and D could easily be the better scorer.

Cant call it without a lot more information.

I'd say its more impressive to score 25 ppg on 50% for a losing team than winning.

    I would disagree.

Players dont get up for a game vs the bad teams like they do for the good ones.

Defense can be much tighter in a game that matters.
