Indiana at Brooklyn Game Thread 12/23 7:30pm
No one feels sorry for you in the NBA. Certainly not Indiana, who is rolling over everyone right now.
When you lose your franchise player (for the remainder of the season, despite the hints that came from the Nets today he might return for the playoffs), things will look bleak. But the Nets are very deep, and all season have had problems establishing a rotation that worked. This shortens the rotation and clarifies everyone's roles. It also probably makes them faster, and more athletic. Garnett will also have to get off his ass, if he floats around like he has most of the season, he'll get skewered. Time to earn that paper.
So the injury may give the Nets a bump, probably mostly because they've played so bad that being at 500 would be much better. It also gives the players something to rally around. Nothing else so far seems to have done that.
The bad sign? The Nets are much worse without Brook than with him historically. Last year they weren't even competitive and got Avery fired because of it. And if the vets (especially the ex Celtics) go all woe is me, the Nets are ****ed.
It also doesn't help Indiana is coming to town twice this week. But historically the Nets have given them trouble, albeit because of size.
Injury Report:
Nets: Besides Lopez, AK47 is out. Terry is GTD.
Pacers: Granger is out.
Let's go!

Terry is trash.
Nets main problem against Philly was turnovers, Deron and Pierce both had 6 each, Nets will lose by double digits if they dont limit turnovers, Offense should't be a problem but obviously the defense will struggle. Hoping for a hot performance by maybe JJ?

I agree. Jason Terry is going to kill the Nets on defense. We thought his primary problem was going to be scoring but he's been good at that in the games he's played with us. His defense has been worse than abysmal though.

The first game between them this season was a very fun one. The Nets were one shot away from overtime. Let's hope this one is as good too, with the Nets winning this time.
They were missing Deron that game. Now they'll be missing Brook.

George has been fouled every time he touched the ball, but didn't get a foul call.

This is what I was saying. The Nets play much more fluidly and fast paced without Lopez on the floor.

Nets doing a good job right now but we can't have joe be 0-3 right now. Really need him to win this game.
